“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”- George Bernard Shaw
Chosen ignorance and miscommunication are my Mendozas for the week. It is tragic and disheartening to see people so hurt from the past, that they cannot move forward based on one bad incident. Then you compile multiple bad incidents and that person is left crippled and unwilling to move or look forward. How does someone get to this point? How much of this is due to personality, genetic predisposition, experience, trauma, health…? When does the transition occur when someone ceases to function, engage, push through the hard things, so that little tasks now appear to be monumental and daunting.
Lord, please pour forth Your comfort & mercy into the hearts of those who are suffering and crippled by their emotions; may they find security in Your Word and promises; may their significance be grounded in Christ; may they be filled with grace, strength & courage to face their fears head on; may the malignant voices that plague them be silenced; may their hearts find an unsettling every time they move towards stagnancy & complacency; may You raise up compassionate people to come beside them to speak truth and love to them; lift their eyes off the ground so that they may see the needs of those around them; we pray for healing and restoration; and that their hearts be opened wide to experience Your abundant life. I pray all of this in the Name of Jesus Christ. amen
